Caseflow 8.5 and associated upgrades to the integration suite on the were released to the Sydney client base on the 14th of August.  The driving force behind the development of 8.5 was to evolve it’s capabilities in response to focus group meetings with the Caseflow client base.  A new Desktop, improved performance and and the Enterprise.Net client were features of the release which was hosted by Henry Davis York in their Martin Place offices.

The Traralgon office of Maurice Blackburn Cashman (MBC) has ordered Caseflow to be installed locally, the broader MBC network uses Caseflow over a WAN to offices located in VIC, NSW and Queensland . Traralgon had specific needs to integrate with their local Locus PMS system through the Locus data warehouse.

Two national law firms, recently appointed to the panel of one of Australia's largest property group, have both chosen Caseflow to automate the extensive commercial leasing being conducted for the client.

The client, who has more than $22 billion worth of projects under management in real estate, funds management and hotel management, recently reduced their external legal panel from 14 to four firms.  Given the volume of leasing involved the client had high demands in terms of cost, turn around and access.

In addition to automation of documents and matter management, both firms will deliver a Client Extranet using Vision-ET, Caseflow's “out of the box” Extranet.  Vision-ET provides on-line access to the status of each matter and access to matter documents held in the firm’s document management system (DMS), together with a comprehensive reporting capability.  Up to 60 of the client’s staff will use the extranet.

The application will be delivered nationally to the firms’ users utilising Caseflow's strengths in WAN deployment.

Caseflow’s comprehensive integration modules were critical to the success of the project.  One firm used Hummingbird's DM5 DMS and Lotus Notes, whilst the other firm has the Interwoven WorkSite DMS and Microsoft Outlook.  Both firms will integrate data from their CMS Open (Aderant) Pratice Management System and will render their documents automatically with the assistance of the Vision-ODBC and Vision-PDF modules.

More than 30 attendees were treated to breakfast and a demonstration of the latest version of pdfDocs by Shaun Locke, General Manager of Sales APAC for DocsCorp.
